I need some Mama (or Daddy) wisdom. Bedtime has become a nightmare. Judah gets out of his bed almost before we can even shut his door six, seven, eight or more times at every nap and every night. We have consistently done the bedtime routine, consistently put him back, consistently spanked, consistently done everything we can think of short of Benadryl, and I am OVER. IT!
So, lay it on me. What suggestions do you have?

Sounds like he needs one of those seat belts like on the changing table for his bed :) I obviously have no advice but will be checking back to see what ends up working. I'm positive I'll have to deal with this soon enough. I can say a prayer for you and your patience muscle.

My cousin made her child stay in the bedroom. Whether in bed or not and the child usually fell asleep with in minutes and there was not the confrontation.

Thanks, Whitney. If I do use the seat belt I probably won't post about it here, but I'll send you an email...just kidding. But if this keeps up I just might get that desperate!
Hi Charlotte. I've actually thought about that. I might have to give that a try. Thanks for the idea!
did you remember that dannah and miles put the doorknob on backwards so they could lock harris in his room? that way they at least knew he was confined and safe!
I seem to recall quite a few nights sitting outside Gabby's open door telling her to get back in the minute she looked to be coming out. One of us just sat in the hall with a book. Find a good one! That was at bedtime. Since she wasn't a great napper she just had to stay in her room at nap time and the door stayed closed. I recall it didn't last too long - at least I can say that now that she is 9 and I am far removed from it!
I appreciate all the suggestions. I've tried almost all of them,
and things seem to be looking up. Hopefully we're coming to the end of it...
