Susanna and Grandaddy

Susanna loves to go to Georgia to spend time with Grandaddy and Grandma. All the snuggles, mac n cheese and Peppa Pig she wants.

Weekend in Georgia

Daddy's 60th birthday was on the 9th and we spent the weekend in Georgia to help him celebrate.  He knew we were all coming in to town, but he had no idea that there was a surprise party planned for him.  It was lots of fun to celebrate his life and what he means to all his friends and family.  We are blessed that he belongs to us!

We also had lots of fun in the gorgeous weather and playing with cousins.
Look at all those teeth! Trust me, he knows how to use them.
The boys stayed in a half nude state all weekend.

Eddie was a good sport about all the attention he received and even helped the boys run off some of their energy.
Luke loves his "big" cousins and hung out with them as much as possible.

Thanksgiving Staycation

The thing I was most disappointed about after my doctor's appointment last week was that the boys wouldn't be able to spend Thanksgiving in Camilla. We had been talking about it and excited about it for weeks, so I wasn't sure how we were going to let them down gently. Plus, when Luke talked about going to school, he always made sure to say that he was not going to go until "after Georgia". My parents solved the dilemma and gave me, Kris and the boys an incredible Thanksgiving gift. They met us halfway Wednesday night so the boys could go spend Thanksgiving with them since I needed to stay home.

I didn't know if Luke would be willing to go without us, and I felt positive that Eli wouldn't go. Apparently I don't know my children all that well. Luke wasn't sure what he wanted to do until Eli declared without hesitation that he was going to Georgia to see Grandaddy and ride tractors. Done and done. According to my mother, neither of my children ever asked about me or Kris. And they were perfect. Hmmm...Perhaps this should become an every six months tradition. What do you say, Mom?

Kris and I both really enjoyed the quiet and slow pace. We were able to get completely ready for baby, mostly ready for Christmas and enjoy a few meals out. And I laid around a lot and just tried not to do anything that would send me into labor. They are coming home today, and I am glad. I miss being "Mama".

Spring Break '09

Mama and Daddy came down last Sunday and picked up me, Luke and Eli so we could spend a whole week with them on the "farm". We had a blast, and here are a few pictures. I would love to show all of them, but I'll just pick a few of my favorites.

Luke and David waiting for the egg hunt to get started.
My beautiful niece, Annalee.
Eli's birthday cake.
Luke and Eli's great-grandaddy and my grandaddy, Rudy.
Happy Micah and his mama
Eli stuck to the glue trap. Fortunately, he was the first to visit it.
I know, I should be ashamed. The funny thing is that he never would look at the camera. Mama said, "He kind of looks a little shamed face, doesn't he?" Eli and Rae had fun dressing up as "princesses".
Sweet Harris
Amazingly, the kitties are still alive after all seven grandchildren handling them.
We went to the lake for the weekend. Grandma visited with us on Saturday.

It was a really fun week, and we are so glad we got to go. I'll be putting the rest of the pictures on Facebook. There are too many good ones not to share!

Some Spoilin' From Grandma and Grandaddy

This past weekend, Grandma and Grandaddy (my mama and daddy) came for a visit. It was so much fun to have them. We enjoyed being silly, snuggling, eating out and hanging out. We actually went to dinner one night at Outback and enjoyed ourselves in spite of a looooong wait.

If you look closely, you can see three heads in there. Luke loves snuggling.
Sorry, Daddy, I couldn't resist!
On Sunday, while Kris, Luke and Daddy went to Blue Springs to see the manatees, Mama, Eli and I went to JoAnn Fabrics to find some material for curtains for my bedroom. We had a great time creating beautiful curtains with the fabric and trim we found, along with the curtains that were already in our room. They turned out so pretty!!

It was a wonderful weekend, and we can't wait for them to come again! We love you, Grandma and Grandaddy!
